Dont u just hate word problems...Im stuck and I've been trying ....Help!?
Thelma and Louise traveled by car from Wichita, KS, to St. Louis, MO, a distance of 446 miles. Thelma drove for the first part of the journey, averaging 61 miles/hour. Louise got impatient and asked to take over. She drove the remainer of the trip, averaging 72 miles/hour. The total driving time was 6 hours 30 minutes. How long was each of the drivers behind the wheel?

Answer 1 :
I'm not a whiz at math, but, if I'm computing this correctly... Thelma drove the 'first part' would mean they split the mileage of 446 for a total of 223 each, then divide the amount of mph they each drove to get your answer... ie; Thelma drove 223 miles at 61 mph - divide that for your total of how many hours Thelma drove and do the same with Louise

About Expect to fly to Melbourne from Kansas via LAX next June or July, best place to find the cheapest ticket

Expect to fly to Melbourne from Kansas via LAX next June or July, best place to find the cheapest ticket?
Looking at returning to Melbourne for two rounds of AFL action in June or July, pending the fixtures. Right now, most of the travel sites show $1550-$1800 to fly from Wichita to Melbourne. That is a ridiculous cost. I know it was 1995, but the first time I went to Melbourne, round trip was $1100. This will be my sixth time to Oz for footy, Qantas and United fly from LAX to Melbourne via Sydney everyday, whether I am on the plane or not. Any ideas on getting a ticket for $1000 or less? I think paying full price is silly, as I wrote above, the plane goes to Oz and back to LAX whether I am on it or not.

Answer 1 :
Well 1995 was 12 years ago! Prices do go up. Qantas really does have the best deals, and it helps if your schedule is flexible. If you're going for specific dates, that might cost more. However, you could try Orbitz or Priceline, you may get lucky. Beware of Priceline, however - you can set your own price but if any airline agrees to it, you're stuck with whatever time THEY choose, which might be at really weird hours. Good luck!
Answer 2 :
I've found that Air New Zealand has better prices than Qantas. Also, try Hawaiian Airlines (www.hawaiianair.com); they sometimes have a good price.
Answer 3 :
Try www.zuji.com.au They often have really cheap fares listed- particularly this far in advance........ i ended up getting a Melbourne-New York Return ticket with an LA stop over for $1300 AUD.
Answer 4 :
Try http://thevenuezone.com.au/ , They provide services like accommodation in Melbourne, Air Tickets and things like that

About Youth Soccer Camp

Youth Soccer Camp?
How can I find out where there are some youth soccer camps around the Wichita, Kansas area? I am also willing to travel to a camp near Tulsa, Oklahoma or Dallas, Texas. This is for my 7 year old daughter.

Answer 1 :
go to Expedia.com
Answer 2 :
Well if you want to, you can travel but it would be easier to sign up at your home town if they have soccer. Another thing is that you could sign her up for summer soccer. You could travel if you want though. Another thing would be to go to expedia.com or search on yahoo.com or another site

About Planning a road trip from kansas to california and back

Planning a road trip from kansas to california and back?
I'm travelling from wichita ks through the lower states down I-40 to san Diego with plans to stop at four corners then the grand canyon then into cali then returning home with a planned route through las vegas, salt lake city UT, yellowstone park in WY then through denver back to kansas. I'm curious as to about how much it'd cost to make the trip plus have extra cash for misc fun/sightseeing, motel fees, toll roads, and for emergencies. I've travelled a little but never a trip this long. I've rough estimated my vehicle at around 15-20 mpg or a little more on the highway given the driving/weather conditions, driving speed, and road conditions like slopes etc. Rough estimated the trip to be around 4,000 miles. Just want to make sure I'm gonna have enough to take the trip and have fun along the way.

Answer 1 :
= Drive a stretch of Rt 66. Check out some of the volcanoes in New Mexico. (See one below). BTW. Do you know how the Grand Canyon was formed? No, it wasn't erosion by the Colorado River. Someone put up a sign that said, "Future Site of the Grand Canyon". Then tourists took home rocks as souvenirs. BTW 2. Bring a panaramic camera if you can find one. They produce pictures that are several times wider than a normal camera, but normal height. Normal pictures just don't do the scenery justice.
Answer 2 :
So if your vehicle gets 20 mpg and you're planning on traveling roughly 4,000 miles you'll need about 200 gallons of gas. (Basic rule for this sort of thing is to divide miles to be driven by vehicle mpg to find amount of gas needed, then multiply by the cost of gas.) I'm not really sure of what gas costs outside of CA at the moment, but around here cheap unleaded is running $4/gallon. Hotel prices can vary widely depending on where you are, of course (and the amount you pay also depends on how long the trip takes), but check out priceline.com or a similar site to get a sense for prices in various places. Hostelworld.com and/or hostelbookers.com allow you to book beds in hostels in lots of places, and that can save you some money in major cities. You won't run into many tolls in CA, and (aside from some bridges) you don't have to take toll roads.
Answer 3 :
That trip sounds fine but if I lived in KS and wanted to take a road trip into California I take US50 into northern CA then Make my way over to the Coast and go south on I-5 to SD just an idea

About Do we have to file MO taxes too

Do we have to file MO taxes too?
We live in Wichita, KS. My husband is in the marine corps reserves and travels to Springfield, MO for his drills every month. Do we have to pay Missouri taxes as well, or just Kansas?

Answer 1 :
You do not have to file MO taxes.
Answer 2 :
Just KS. He is domiciled in KS. MO cannot tax his military pay since he's not domiciled in MO. If he were working as a civilian it would be a different story, but as military only his domicile can tax his pay. If he honks his horn as he passes exit 11A on I-44, I'll probably hear him.
Answer 3 :
Just Kansas. By law MO can't tax his military pay

About Advice needed on route from Las Vegas to New Orleans

Advice needed on route from Las Vegas to New Orleans..?
I searched online for a good route and was given : Vegas - Flagstaff - Albuquerque - Amarillo - Wichita Falls - Dallas - Shreveport - New Orleans. I've gotten route advice by computer before and have sometimes gotten routes that looked good on paper, but in reality took me on logging roads or along roads that had very low speed limits. Anyone out there travelled this route? Where would be a good halfway point to spend the night? Thanks!

Answer 1 :
{EDIT} US 95 South to US 93 South multiplex with I-40 East back to US 93 South to I-10 due East. I-10 has no mountains to contend with. One poster suggested El Paso, TX as an overnight stop, which sounds OK and the second overnight stop can be Houston, TX. The trip is better made in 3 days rather than 2.
Answer 2 :
This works and I have driven it . Just make sure to leave LAS at 6:00AM so you miss PHX rush hour traffic US 93 So>I-40E >US93 So> US 60 E [ get gas in Wickenberg]> SR 74 E aka Carefree Hwy its at a flashing yellow w/ a turning lane > I -17 So then go two or three quick exits to Loop 101 E Scottsdale / /Tempe/ Chandler > Loop 202 W 3 exits to I-10 E and take that all the way to N.O. For me I'd go for El Paso as my halfway point . It 's not so much that it actually half way it's more that once you leave EP heading east there's a lot of very empty Texas real estate until you reach the suburbs of San Antonio Allow 2 days
Answer 3 :
Take I-40E to Oklahoma City, I-35S to Dallas, I-20E to Shreveport, I-49S to Lafayette, and I-10E to New Orleans, The route suggestion that you go through Wichita Falls and NW Texas puts you on secondary roads with lots of towns, stops, and speed traps. Another answer suggests watching the time so you avoid trying to transit urban areas at rush hour - it is a good suggestion
