What can I do to not be so sad and depressed this afternoon?
I woke up at 6 o'clock this morning and I went to work at 7 this morning. It was over with at 3 this afternoon. I came home sat down and realized that for 5 years I have lived in this town and I can't seem to find any one that I have things in common with. Except my husband and we have a very happy relationship. But I am a hermit. I stay at home a lot by my self a whole lot. I can't stand working in public places like stores and I have only had one job for 2 years and have kept it and still have it. I didn't finish high school because I wanted to travel with my father who just passed away a year ago with cancer. I miss him and pretend to have coffee with him in the mornings and afternoons. I still miss him and pretend he is here all of the time with me to help me and guide me in life. His death was screwed up and he didn't have a funeral or a burial and his ex wife which he almost hated very much or disliked has his ashes from which I told them to embalm him and then I never called them back and then they just burnt him. I didn't have a way or the money to wichita Ks to help give him a proper burial. Well on with that story heres the next part which is the first part to my begenning of my 5 year journey of being alone. My father and I were traveling from Wichita Ks to northeast Texas and we broke down in a small Town in Oklahoma. I stayed and met a wonderful handsom man who is now my husband. We have no children I am a little mentally disabled but not on a check. I don't drive so I let other people drive for me. I am not a complete idiot or anything just a small hermit who has a husband who has friends that come over and they are my friends too but they just do not come over when I am here by my self because I am a female and all of his 2 friends or whatever are guys. We do get together and play video games all of the time everyday and stuff like that you know but I don't seem to have any friends at all really just my self. I have a job,husband, dead father, and this computer screen and my television but I am so depressed and anxiety filled I do not know what to do. I try to practice natural healing it helps. I don't want pills just a real true friend who will stay by my side through thick and thin. But it is very hard to find. I am married and love my husband very much. But I don't know how to make friends that are weird like me. Are there any hints or information that any one could give me cause if I have no friends with in a few months I feel like I will break down. If some one out there is reading this know that I mean every word of this and am writing with a voice as if I am talking to you. I need a friend not just some one to hang out with and use me for every thing I have in my house but some one to go places with , all of that stuff. Help.

Honey, you are okay. From the way you wrote that question I can gather that you are extremely frazzled at the moment. Deep breaths are heaven for problems like that. I don't know how to get you friends because I don't know the people that live near you, but friends will come when they come. If you don't get out much your best bet is to talk to people when you go grocery shopping (my Mum does it all the time :). And if you want someone to be there for you through thick and thin, that's what your husband is for! He will be your strongest support. The absolute best thing you can do, though, is to be absolutely at peace with yourself. Most of the time a large chunk of our problems come when we are not happy with who we are as people. If you can be happy with who you are, it won't matter so much that a lot of things are going wrong for you because you are going right for you. Hope this helps :).

How can I fly from Kansas to Fort Lauderdale, FL with the least stops...prefer NONE.?
I am trying to find flights from Kansas City, MO or Wichita, KS to Fort Lauderdale, FL and all of them seem to have at least 1 stop. I would rather have a NONSTOP flight and drive to a different airport to fly out or drive from another close by city in Florida than to have the flight stop. Can anyone help? I have traveled very little.

You should or should have taken 95 to Laughlin, then 163/68 over to Kingman AZ where you catch I-40 Take I-40 to Tucumcari NM then catch 54 out of Tucumcari to Wichita. 54 is a nice Hwy. This is a much quicker, and better route. I drive to Las Vegas from KC once or twice a year and have went both ways. There is no comparison. I only made the "mistake" of taking the I-70 route once. Las Vegas to Laughlin = 1hr 33min / 97 miles Laughlin to Tucumcari = 9hr 35min / 675 miles Tucumcari to Wichita = 6hr 56min / 418 miles

I've never done a MTB race (that won't last long) but would REALLY like to try a 100 mile (or 12 hour) race next summer. I've finished a few Ironmans (and NOT finished a few Ironmans!!) so I'm not totally new to the endurance world, but this is a whole new beast to me!

Exit the airport and follow signs to I-20 west. Take 20 West to 287 north. Hwy 287 north heads straight to Wichita Falls. It's about 125 miles or 2 hrs.

Let me give you a shorter route. You will need to exit the DFW airport at the north end. There are only 2 ways to exit the airport, north or south. When you exit the north end you will come across Hwy 114 & Hwy 121. Take the 114/121 exit so that you are going West 114 and south 121. They will be the same hwy. Just stay in your right lanes and stay on 114 West. This highway will take you through the city of Roanoke, by Texas Motor Speedway which is at the intersection of I-35 and 114. Just keep truckin west on 114 until you come to the city of Rome. Hwy 287 will there. Take 287 North to Wichita Falls. If you take the other route the other guy told you(artsy5347), you will end up in Abilene,TX. This way will save you about 60-70 miles travel time

What should I bring in my car for an 18 hour road trip? (Everything from toiletries to books)?
Im driving from Phoenix, AZ to Wichita, KS hopefully in one sitting. of course ill make stops, Im traveling with 2 small dogs. I am trying to be really thorough about what I bring to have readily available. Suggestions? Like I said, everything from Tums to a Camera...just want suggestions.

And, you can always work on your Christmas list! Don't forget your cell... Enjoy your trip!

The story came out in Analog or Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction magazine maybe in the 1980's and involved testing centers established by these aliens that faster-than-light travel. They would test all human children and if the kids were able to teleport then they'd take the children. Humans resisted at first but the aliens were brutal. I recall they killed everyone in Wichita, Kansas to make an example of what happens to anyone that resists them. So there were testing centers all over the world and human children were tested, a small percentage were abducted, then one child teleported back to Earth after being abducted but the aliens took her back to their planet. It enraged the humans who decided that no child goes to the alien planet twice. They posted solders at every testing center. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?

The story came out in Analog or Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction magazine maybe in the 1980's and involved testing centers established by these aliens that faster-than-light travel. They would test all human children and if the kids were able to teleport then they'd take the children. Humans resisted at first but the aliens were brutal. I recall they killed everyone in Wichita, Kansas to make an example of what happens to anyone that resists them. So there were testing centers all over the world and human children were tested, a small percentage were abducted, then one child teleported back to Earth after being abducted but the aliens took her back to their planet. It enraged the humans who decided that no child goes to the alien planet twice. They posted solders at every testing center. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?

Any one have a decent used car for sale?
I live in Wichita Falls, Tx. willing to travel to the metroplex and also North into Oklahoma City if needed. trying to get a reliable first car for my daughter

Go to an auction...thats where I got my first car, Take a mechanic....Auctions have pretty good deals and its best to go toward the end of the month. When dealing with a private seller...you don't know what you're getting yourself into unless its a friend of the family.When dealing with a dealer, its safer than both auctions and private sellers but also more expensoive(they have to make a profit) Remember to do a carfax report...that 30.00 is nothing compared to the 100's-1000's you could spend repairing a car u thought was already in good shape. Although a used cars may need immediate repairs anyway because its old and things start to fall apart after so many years.But Carfax lets you know how often the person did oil changes&everything..so it will give you a pretty good Idea of whether the engine is is good shape..GOODLUCK....and Try http://www.yahoo.com/autos

About Can anyone recomend any site besides ebay for purchasing used HD sportsters
Can anyone recomend any site besides ebay for purchasing used HD sportsters ?
Google searches didn,t reveal much. I already all over Ebay but I'm planning on purchasing a bike next year with tax return and savings. That gives me 6 months to hunt for bargains but so far all I've really found is Ebay. I live in Wichita Ks. but I'd be willing to travel 300 to 500 for right bike. Also I'd appreciate it if you spare me your opinions on how I'll want something bigger than a sportster DUH. I'm purchasing within my means perhaps a sportster trade in will help me with a future bike purchase.
